Freddie Mercury may be gone, but Queen guitarist Brian May is completing his doctorate in astrophysics:
The 60-year-old guitarist and songwriter said he plans to submit his thesis, "Radial Velocities in the Zodiacal Dust Cloud," to supervisors at Imperial College London within the next two weeks.

Freddy Mercury does indeed live. Sci-Fi TV is premiering this summer a new version of Flash Gordon . Seeing the trailer on TV, it appears they are using the Queen theme from the 1980 campfest with Max von Sydow as Ming. That film had one of my favorite SF lines: Princess Aurra Tells Dale Arden that no Mongoite would help another, so why are the Earthlings helping to free the oppressed of Mongo? Dale thinks for a second and says, "Well, because we're better than you!"

Ok... I'm going to have to get cable now... the 1980 version Flash Gordon is one of my favorite movies of all time.
