Fruit Sticker.com - understand the PLU codes on fruit. If it starts with a 9 it's organic, 8 it's genetically modified. But in all cases it's reducing your fruit to a commodity...

Nothing prevents you from buying whichever banana you wish. However, from the merchant's point of view its just a banana.

My point in pointing out the commodity status, is that if you're paying attention and looking for fruit which distinguishes itself by color, flavor, or origin, then your fruit is no longer a commodity, each item is individual.

The difference between buying a 94011 and buying a specific banana.

Er.... yes, fruit is a commodity when I buy it. If I don't buy it, it is just decoration in the supermarket bin.
