If you want to see a real economic divide - check out the prices (and hardware) available at your local Rent-a-Center. Chances are the people renting laptops at those kind of prices are the people least able to afford it.

I think the observation that sparked that conversation was in seeing that the economic exploitation of Rent-a-Center had expanded to Best Buy.
