Well, if the brothers didn't make it in aviation, the trademarked name "Twin Beaver" and their line of nudie playing cards could have made some money.

BTW, planes to tow gliders are an interesting sideline to military history. So much attention was devoted at various times to cutting endge technology that never lasted very long. The era of the war glider lasted about 10 years, and vanished without a trace. There were only a handful of actual duels between battleships, and the air-dropped torpedo didn't even outlast WW2.
