The difficulty with generating a UFO flap with these is you have to be standing in exactly the right place to see the pattern.
I know of what I speak. Some years ago I was flying from O'Hare to St, Louis at dusk on a foggy, overcast day. As we climbed through the clouds I saw a bright spot outside the plane through my window, the intensity increasing and decreasing at a steady pace. At first I thought it was a plane taking off from a parallel runway, but it never changed its angle or position relative to me. I was beginning to get a little scared when we finally broke through the clouds and I realized I was watching the blinking beacon at the end of our own portside wing. At that point I missed my chance for abduction.
