I mistakenly believed the Drug Enforcement Agency listed marijuana as a schedule 1 substance because of sound scientific proof.

You <giggle> really <snicker> believed <snort> that any... <catch breath> government agency <sprrrt> did anything <hah!> because of <chortle> sound <lol> scientific <lol> proof <lol>!?!?

You need your head checked.

Exactly.

How many other places is this guy spouting folklore and propaganda rather than looking at the science?

He gets a lot of attention due to "expert syndrome", he is probably very good at a very specific medical niche (Neurosurgery apparently) and is a charismatic personality. Therefor his opinion of anything/everything else get some attention, even when it is not warranted.

Still, I'm impressed with the article and the apparent study he has been making. It takes some guts to admit you are wrong and take a public stance for the other side.

I contend if it were legal, it would probably help my 70+ year old dad with some issues. As a Limbaugh-ish ex-lifer military man, probably ain't gonna happen unless it is legal and prescribed by a conservative looking/sounding doctor.

And for the record.. I haven't had any for a very long time..
