I didn't watch CBS's "Jesus" miniseries due to an inability to stomach any further Christian storytelling (I'm plenty saturated from sixteen solid years of church-on-Sundays), but I think it's really excellent that the Y2K Jesus part was left out. I mean, his life makes for a good story that anyone could potentially enjoy on some level, but asserting his presence in our modern time & place would have been somewhat offensive to those of us who choose not to follow that mythology.

Well, ya know, there's a lot that's somewhat offensive to those of us who choose not to follow that mythology that kept me from watching that too (not to mention my general distaste for logging TV time). I, and I think Frank, find it heartwarming that it's finally becoming an issue for major broadcasters.

Just out of curiosity, how would you feel about a biography about Martin Luther King or Ghandi having the same type of ending?

I'd laugh at their perversion of a potentially meaningful myth.
