Via Scripting News, yet another study that concludes that Napster increases music sales. The open source conference and things like this have me thinking about situations where an economy isn't closed and cooperation rather than competition can lead to net growth.

Likewise but I don't see cooperation and competition as exclusive of each other. Without the competition driving force, we would end up with the software socialisum model that OSS is accused of today. I doubt this will ever happen because most inovators are full of huburis and always looking for a better way. I will stop short of a full Ayn Rand rant but to see a socialist idea with a capitalist drive look at Advogato and try to guess my handle.
