I guess that would explain all those nancy Chinamen I see marching around Tienamin Square.

Actually, as theories go this isn't any more implausible than stuff promoted by GreenPeace, but the story was woefully short (in fact, entirely bereft) of documentation. I will do a bit of googling later to see what's up.

My impression is that soy does indeed contain lots of estrogen precursors, and that most soy based formulas and soymilks say "don't feed to infants" for this reason, but I thought the over-the-top-ness of this guy's ranting was worth a link.

Kind of like the anti-flouride forces: There's a grain of something there, but the reactions from the conspiracy theorists far exceeded the actual risks (as time has shown).

One can't deny the pollution of our Precious Bodily Fluids. I blame the Intelligent Design hooplah on brains damaged by fluoridation. Now excuse me, I need to refresh my foil hat.

At least one blogger thinks there is far less here than meets the eye: Captains Quarters Blog. It's also interesting to look at the background links of other news stories. For example, a guy is suing the Atkins diet people because eating all that meat made his cholesterol skyrocket and gave him a heart attack. His lawsuit was thrown out, but the most interesting thing in the story was who was paying the fees. It was Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, a radical vegan group who consider Atkins adherants to be murderers. So we can eat meat and go to hell, or eat soyburgers and turn queer. Such a deal.

Reminds me of the scene from But I'm a Cheerleader where the "signs of homosexuality" are being explained including vegetarianism...
