Berke Breathed on the Opus movie

Berke Breathed on the future of Opus and the Opus movie:

That project is gloriously dead and decaying on the Weinstein Co. beach, Breathed said. "They were set and determined to make the cheapest animated film in Hollywood history, and they finally gave up trying to figure it out, thank God. Opus shall remain the way he is without Hollywood's interpretation sullying his dubious legacy."

As to why I may have been interested in the future of the Opus movie... well... can't comment on that one. But this answers a few questions.

I still keep Opus books near and in the library (bathroom). They don't get old, they make me laugh and cry.. After reading that little blurb, I like Berke even more. I don't live in the mountains... and I'm prone to taking the trash out naked.

Yeah... And I was reading your Bloom County - the bit about Bill the Cat running for President and dying in the middle of the campaign the same day I helped a friend take his aging cat to the vet to go to the big sleep... and yes, that cat was running for president...

His distaste for a typical animated movie was probably fueled by A Wish for Wings That Work, which I saw, and found quite uncomfortably wooden.
