Dan rants: SIGGRAPH privacy

Hi! I realize that you're probably the victim of a screw-up at the SIGGRAPH organization, but I and many of my coworkers checked the "Don't release our information" box when registering, yet we still have to suffer through mounds of spam.

I'd strongly suggest that you complain to SIGGRAPH over their handling of sensitive customer information, at least around here vendors using our registration data to send unsolicited advertising materials are generating a tremendous amount of ill will.

This is good for neither us who have to suffer through the spam, nor the vendors who are alienating potential customers.
