The explosion of “youthful sex offenders” is not the result of our kids becoming perverts. It is the result of the law criminalizing what is a normal part of growing up.

The "War Against Children" is not limited to pretend sexual offences. Sharing an Advil now makes one a drug pusher. Taking cutlery to school is enough to cause a 6 year old to be expelled, and/or sent to reform school. An eight year old is facing three felonies for pointing a toy gun at other children and saying bang.
Why do we have police in schools who make crimes out of childish behavior? Cops Tasering preadolescents. Arresting four year olds, and putting handcuffs around their upper arms because the wrists slip through the cuffs.
DAs now have more power in the courtroom than judges. Their primary interest is in how many people they can convict rather than in engaging in a system of justice. With pile on charges, DAs can get just about anyone to plead guilty to something.
Last year a friend plead guilty to disturbing the peace. He had been involved in an altercation in a bar. A disgruntled ex-employee was drunk and tried unsuccessfully to start a fight. The next day the ex-employee swore out a complaint that he was assaulted by my friend. I went to the hearing and was truly disgusted by what happened. There were three witnesses who testified that the ex-employee tried to start a fight, but was so drunk that he fell down. By that time the ex-employee had an attack of conscience and testified under oath that he fabricated the story for revenge. But the DA decided that either my friend copped a plea to disturbing the peace with a $100 fine, or face a felony assault trial which would have cost him at least $20K for a defence. The DA got his conviction which was this "justice system" member's only concern.
Unfortunately this is not just a war against children, but a governmental war against all of its citizens. Were Eisenhower alive today he would warn about an Enforcement-Prosecutorial-Judicial-Penal system.

Perhaps we are becoming more like: The Saudi's and other very restrictive states than we realize. It's a slipperly slope.
At 13-15yrs old... I was a hormone poisoned youth who could only think about sex (which I actually knew little about) and skateboarding, and in todays rules I would have been locked up as a menace to society. Junior High antics including an en-masse boys P.E. streak from the boys locker room through the girls locker room... I remember the teacher chiding us all afterwards while trying to hold back his laughter.
