Irritation

Dammit...I know standards suck and everything...but god I hate when I get a file, I know what's in it...and I can't figure out what the hell to open it with.

So...does anybody know of an image format with a .cps extension?? The only thing I've found is postscript files and I don't think that's what these are.

So, any of you more image-able folks out there (ex-Pixar employees, I'm looking in your direction) care to enlighten me?

by the way...the original topics turned out funny, so they stay.

Color PostScript looks like the only cps-tagged image format.

Conversion utilities exist, but I can't speak to their quality.

Dylan, if it's Color PostScript, you might try Ghostscript on it.

hmmm actually I figured it out this morning talking to the sender (who isn't savvy enough to even be walked through changing the format unfortunately)...it's Corel Photo Suite. And while there are converters out there for .CPT (Corel Photo Paint) this is apparently a different format from that.

It looks like I'll just have to either figure out a way to walk her through a program I've never used or do without...oh well, thanks for the answer. And what the hell, maybe it *is* saved as color post-script from within corel photo...might as well try ghostscript.

Thanks...grr
