Blogs save lives

Via Borklog: Accordion Guy discovers that blogs save lives. Writes an ode to his new girlfriend on his weblog, reader contacts him to tell him that all may not be as it appears, soap opera follows. More power to living a well-exposed life, even if it's painful in the near-term.

What a great read.. And my similiar story starts with the cute goth girl whom told me she was a professional hacker.. had a T1 to her house.. and knew the difference between HPUX and Linux... - I still miss her smile and eyes though..

Yep. As I read through that I was struck by his comments about similarities to movies. Relatedly, when I was watching Shakes The Clown, the supplemental material had the trailer from Big Daddy and I realized that something's about to happen in my life that sounds an awful lot like the setup to an Adam Sandler movie.

More when I can talk about it.

So did she know the difference between PHHPUX and Linux?

Her Ex did, he was a geek..
he died in his sleep
a diabetic alcoholic
who liked to frolic

Her next lover died
his liver, fried

she was buzzword compliant
and ever so reliant
on what she received
from men who believed
the stories so bold
she always told

I broke the facade quickly
and still liked her partyability
but as chemical dependance
Xtacy, Coke and Meth danced
in and out of her life
I faced much strife

and left. Alive.
