I've gotten on the "Personal Clouds" mailing list because I think there are a bunch of really smart people looking around at what the network topology of the future will have to be if we are going to own our own data and control our own computing and not fall in to the AT&T monopoly type trap, but every time I hear the words "Personal Clouds" I think "is that like 'personal mainframes'?"
It's time for a new image to change the metaphor to something useful.
