A Day in Dan's Life

Phil took this picture of the Golden Gate bridge and the San Francisco skyline through the haze. I'm glad he did, because I was going to try to get a picture of sunrise over the Golden Gate and overslept, so this is the only really touristy recognizable image I've got:

One of the reasons we went down to the headlands is that it's the middle of hawk migration season, and Dave's a bird enthusiast. As proof that if I were serious about bird photography I'd spend enough money to buy a small country on big bright glass, here's some fuzzy stuff clipped from the middle of scans off my softest lens, the 75-300IS. We saw, at the very least, a couple of ravens, lots of turkey vultures, a Cooper's Hawk, a couple of Red Tailed Hawks, and I think a kestrel and a few others I don't remember.
