So, let's talk about real problems: The value of an identity. My slide was wrong on this, it turns out a billion people a month now log in to Facebook. Facebook revenue estimates for 2013 are $6.6 billion, up from $5 billion last year (my $.40 a month may have come from last year revenues at some point, I've looked up these numbers a couple of times).
So Facebook is expected to make $.55/user/month.
And people are whining about how Facebook is attempting to monetize their presence.
If an online identity is going to matter, we have to create that value, because it sure doesn't exist right now.
