"Invest"

If you had $10k to $20k of "mad money" to invest in a project, side-business or primary business, what would it be? Looking for alternative creative fun ideas.

Buy a racecar! Because racecar!

I have to agree with ebradway. 24 Hours of Lemons is a blast and it's good for the environment, because we are removing clunkers from the roads. I find that driving 12 hours to a race where I drive in a circle for 14 hours, then driving home 12 hours is very satisfying.

I'd probably build a "serious" art-car/rv before a racer.. It'd be hard to compete with the toys Ryan is playing with at http://mdudrift.com although it'd be fun to go a few laps.

Once upon a time, we used to sit around and talk about various techie/pseudo-business ideas that we'd do if we only had a few grand to blow. I'm kinda looking for one of those, even considered building a makerspace-ish kinda place (I've got a garage/house full of equipment). I've even thought about making a coffee push cart beast, more for the purpose of meeting interesting people than making money. But bluntly, I'm kinda in a rut and looking for inspiration.

It wouldn't take near that investment but I'm giving a lot of thought to building these:

I love the cigar box guitars!

And I've been toying with the idea of 500+ watt electric bicycles...
