Kickball!
Warning: maiden post in the main area (does this mean todd's punishment links worked?). So here's the thing: I wanna play KICKBALL! I can just hear the SPLOOCH! of that big red rubber ball when you kick it, and feel my elbows getting scraped up as I slide in the dust rounding second base while trying to avoid getting whomped by the ball on my way to a spectacular 'out'... Apparently, there are World Adult Kickball Association teams lots of places, including one in San Francisco. It's summer, let's play! ("To Provide and Promote the Joy of Kickball to those Young at Heart!")

Sounds like fun to me.. And the website is out of date, but sans-beer, this is why the http://www.chattanooga.net/cyberkids is so fun. Keeping a real score is just not as important as some interpersonal competition.

rowdiness and drinking?? sounds like something worth pursuing. It looks like you need 12 people for a team. Diane, are you part of a team or starting one? let us know. They even have a kickball song....

I'm in, but if we're gonna kick back at the Stone Lion, it'd probably be best not to tell the rugby players we're a kickball team. 'Course we could just show up in T-shirts that say "We kick balls and run!" and see what happens.

todd, I'm not part of a team, but I wouldn't mind starting one. Here's the rub, though: I'm in the South Bay, which ain't so convenient for you if you're interested (right?). I'm feeling rather misplaced in space down here, shucks. If y'all get up the oomph to field a team up north there, let me know and I'll try to show up for a weekend game, at least. I'll bring some refreshments. And a camera. And some bubble soap. :-)
