What was up at the Pentagon?

OK, so why HAVEN'T we seen video footage of the 9/11 Pentagon impact? Not to beat a dead horse or anything, but could there be anything to this? (The comment I got from my kid was, "Holy crap.")

According to some early reports, there was also a military plane that tracked the "jet" to the Pentagon. I asked my father about it (30 years Air Force vet). He said that there probably was a military plane in the air that was redirected to monitor the flight but wasn't able to do anything other than follow.

So maybe this military plane launched a missle into the Pentagon? I argued early on that maybe the US military had orchestrated the 9/11 attacks. The military had:

  1. Alot to gain by getting unanimous support for military actions in Afghanistan (or anywhere)
  2. The ability to both remove planes from radar and fly them into targets accurately
  3. The ability to strike the Pentagon in an area where they would have the fewest casualties.

This video really makes me wonder... After all, the planes that hit the WTC towers managed to completely take them down. Supposedly the exact same kind of plane hit the Pentagon and basically just dented it. I also wondered about anyone's ability to fly a 757 into the side of a 5-story building...

I have often wondered why the media had forgotten about the Pentagon impact.. and had chalked it up to 'security'. Doing a quick google on the subject, seems this is a churning controversy. Check out: http://911research.wtc7.net/mi.../guardian/Pentagon/explosion.htm and more: http://thewebfairy.com/killtown/flight77/lawn.html So, where/who are the dead passengers? and their families.. what really happened to Flight 77, was there really a Flight 77?

Gotta go make a living today.. :)

OK, so Snopes say's it's a rumour/conspiracy. Maybe they are "in" on it.

I love conspiracy theories.. you can keep going and going.. and going..

Snopes says the plane 'bounced of the helipad' - hence no appreciable bounce marks on the yard. Yet what I have seen always shows the plane coming from a different angle. http://www.ifrance.fr/silentbutdeadly/ is a good example.

On a more immediate front.. got things to do here.

Y'know what? For the first time, I'm gonna give Snopes the thumbs-down. I don't buy it.

Can anyone dredge up a site where the families of "Flight 77" have banded together or expressed their pain or or or or.... Is there anything even remotely akin to the WTC memorials, where the passengers are included with those in the towers when all were lost? I know there is a memorial in the Pentagon to the employees and visitors lost that day; surely we should be able to find out if "flight 77" passengers are included on that list.

Not that I need another spare time project, but I think I might dive into this one further...

The impacts at the WTC basically just dented the buildings also. What brought those towers down was several tons of burning jet fuel pouring down the inside and outside of the building weakening the steel in the structure to the point that it couldn't support all the weight above it.

As far as the passengers of Flight 77, I found this memorial website listing the crew and passengers on that flight.

The Pentagon is a lot bigger than most people think it is. It is in fact the world's largest office building.

My freshly-minted brother in law was in a nearby Navy building in the path and saw it go overhead. I have no doubts.

A few of the many Flight 77 memorial listings; a description of the proposed Pentagon monument, which includes both those lost at the Pentagon, and those on the plane; and the relevant page of the 9/11 commission report. Also note Steve Push's bio here.

of a better way to get people to do your research for you than by proposing a conspiracy. :-)
