Took a few pictures with the kite at St. Petersburg Beach, Florida. I would highly recommend against flying a 30 sq. foot parafoil kite in 20mph winds. I was more than a little concerned about my 200lb test kite line not being strong enough and struggled significantly to get it reeled in. Of course, I wasn't the biggest kite on beach. Several of these guys were kite surfing once the winds died down below 15mph.

I use to spend a lot of time at St. Pete Beach, those photos brought back a lot of memories. That large round hotel, is (maybe was) the Hilton. That top UFO use to be a rotating restaurant.

I didn't realize you were in town, dude; vacation? Or do you live here and I didn't know it?

baylink: I was just in town on vacation. My folks live in Inverness - about 2 hours northeast of you.
mkelley: Yep. It's the Hilton and it is a rotating restaurant. We always stay at the Beach Haven. A little Mom & Pop motel squeezed between two high-rises. It's right on the beach and costs less than $100/night.
I wish I had the strength left in my arms to fly a second time. There were four kite surfers out later in the day and it would have made a fantastic KAP shot.
