Cricut meets Disney

This one's for Nancy: I just saw that there's a Disney patterns cartridge for the Cricut. And it'll cut individual parts out to be glued up in to larger layered characters. I have a Mickey Mouse around here somewhere I'll try to take some pictures of, but... well... I can appreciate Disney, but I wouldn't describe myself as a fan and I'm generally cynical about such things just on my anti-consumerist principles, but my reaction was "Oh my that is so cyoooooot" and I had to restrain myself from going and buying said cartridge.

I may have to anyway just to make up some of these characters to send you. And... dang it, there's some things I don't know if I can talk about, but if you like Disney keep watching the Cricut.

(Full disclosure: Uhh... no, I can't talk about it here, but I may not be unbiased when it comes to this device... I do have one now, though.)

awwwhhh...that IS so cute! I don't do a lot of paper-art, scrapbooking, and that sort of thing, but I have a good friend who is WAY into it. (And made us a gorgeous piece of art of a scrapbook for our wedding/honeymoon. It takes her 8 hours to make a page.) She'd LOVE a cricut! And, yes, the scrapbook was all disney themed; she loves me ;-)

Okay, I found the Mickey and took a picture, I'll see if I can dig up your address and remember to drop this in the mail (I am so lame at physical mail).

What you can't see from this badly lit grainy shot is that this is made up from layers of cut paper, the black outline and then everything is layered on top of that, and... I don't know, it's just cool in that Disney sort of way, and someone with the appropriate craftiness could definitely figure out some neat ways to use this thing.

That is really sweet!

Hey, speaking of physical mail, I finally found that old voice recorder we were talking about waaaaay back when; if you still want it, I'll mail it to ya.

I ended up picking one up for $20, with half a gig of memory, at a chain drug store. So I think I'm set there... Thanks!
