Unclear on the concept

Unclear on the concept: Hillary Clinton proposes that every child be given a $5000 bond at birth:

"I think it's a wonderful idea," said Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones, an Ohio Democrat who attended the event and has already endorsed Clinton. "Every child born in the United States today owes $27,000 on the national debt, why not let them come get $5,000 to grow until they're 18?"

Because, yeah, the major thing we need to be teaching kids these days is that it's great to borrow against future earnings just because you feel like it, and that money just appears with no effort on your part.

She obviously inhaled. A lot. For the past ?? years, the educational system has pushed 'green'. While I have to laugh at aspects of it, it's produced a few generations of kids who are growing up and, while confused, are starting to make choices based on the social and ecological ramifications of their decisions. Now it's time to add a little more guilt, not reward, into the process:

When a child is born, it's parents get handed an invoice for $30+k. Their job is to raise that kid with the idea that they are responsible for that debt, and that part of the blame is the generation(s), including their parents, before them. Make the parents responsible somehow (co-signers?). It'll give the Emo-kids something to really get their angst worked up against. We'd end up with either generations of motivated kids (and parents) or a revolution. Either way, we all win.

Before you blast me for the stupid idea's above (and I agree, they are), they make a LOT more sense then giving them $5k for nothing, nada.. except maybe a loan against their future taxes, with interest.

Side note: I have to respect her for understanding politics at it's lowest core level: making insane promises giving people with little or nothing more than they have. It could get her elected. And that scares me. I'm pushing for the Democrats to pull a real contender out of the hat, while watching other forms of political insanity like: Unity08 (which has me intrigued).

You have to understand the dynamic on this. What she's proposing to do is give the children NOTHING. Give the kid a $5,000 government bond; there's no $5,000 involved, it's just a mark in the books. EIGHTEEN YEARS LATER, we all have to pay for those bonds, but it will barely make a blip in her budget. She gets kudos and doesn't have to pay for it.

No one said she wasn't smart. It's just that she's so EVIL.

"As long as they vote on that" - yeah, we can sell future generations into slavery in order to support our own comfort.
