Kids these days: Paint Ball Sentry, an autonomous paint ball turret. The paint ball sentry demonstration video is very cool.

Watching this thing target it's maker gives one pause before arming robots...

He should make the sentry screech "Exterminate! Exterminate!"

That is pretty impressive engineering - paintballs are pretty inaccurate but nowadays the ROF is high enough to make up for that. I don't know of any field that would let you use this, but it's one more step to a live-action Team Fortress style game!

I can't imagine the lawsuit if someone set this up to guard their house or something.

I'd love to put that in my yard to guard against the cats who think my garden is a litterbox... I wonder if there's a way to program a perimeter into it.

For what it's worth, you can actually kill a cat with a paintball gun, especially shooting 20bps @300fps. Cause that would be awesome to explain to any law enforcement folk.

I love animals, wouldn't actually do anything to harm them, that statement was tongue-in-cheek. Now if I had a blow gun though....

JT: Maybe a "SuperSoaker" water gun sentry for the cats? It'd double as an irrigation system!
