From The Times reporting on the video that's currently discrediting the U.S. military's account of a Afghanistan strike:
The US military said that its findings were corroborated by an independent journalist embedded with the US force. He was named as the Fox News correspondent Oliver North, who came to prominence in the 1980s Iran-Contra affair, when he was an army colonel.
Uh. Whisky Tango Foxtrot? The military is turning to Ollie North for corroboration? Yeah, there's some credibility for ya.

And Dame Stella Rimington (not a voice to be brushed off) wrote the book:
Rimington, Stella (2006). Secret Asset. London: Hutchinson. ISBN 0-09-180024-2.
imagining the effect of one of our hamfisted wedding bashes in Afghanistan. It's a good spy thriller, by a "reliable source"

Cool, I'll take a look for that.
Kinda seems like attending a wedding in Afghanistan is almost as hazardous as being the #3 guy in Al Qaeda. It's amazing how many times they manage to kill him. Guy's got more lives than a high schooler trying to explain truancy has grandmothers.
