What little I can tell from being an end-user, it seems to be very DRM driven.

When netflix started with their silverlight only player, I moved on to Hulu. I also like how it plays on Linux using the standard flash plugin. Sure it has a few (much shorter) commercials, but for the price of $0.00, I think I can live with a little advertising.
