I don't use anything special. I've cranked up the text on my iPhone and iPad and occasionally use the "two finger tap" trick to zoom in. 32pt text help when my eyes get weak

I've sent an SMS to Charlene suggesting that she can up the font size in general settings, and this should change the font size in the notepad. Haven't heard back yet, will see if that helped.
