I've been flying a lot, even through JFK, and have not had issues. IF I check a bag, it is typically a Pelican case stuffed with oddities (I own 4 different cases). But the real issue is people carrying insane amounts of stuff on a trip. I love my: MLC.. even fits in puddle/island jumper planes well.
