Shadow forwarded along this animated GIF of those scanning bike wheel lights doing rasters of a dog chasing a cat. I won a set of those sparkly spoke-mounted bike lights at a company shindig a few months ago, been meaning to put 'em on my commuter bike. Must see if they can do this...

Check out the comments, including a pic of a poptart cat animation.

Only problem is these might be difficult to see in daylight. I don't know how much night-time bike riding you guys do.

In winter, I end up riding the last mile or so home and to in the dark. And even the stretch between work and Santa Rosa can use a little more visibility on overcast days.
