Device woes

For want of a scan my sanity was lost:

“Do you really really REALLY want to run something you downloaded from the Internet equivalent of an unmarked conversion van in Compton?” asked my computer.

We got that Brother laser printer recently. Works awesome on all of our Linux machines. Even scans nicely to our Linux server from the device. Then Forest[Wiki] came to live with us for a bit, and we can't get the printer working with his Windows driver at all.
