Nothing in the article said this stuff was ancient. Indeed, I get the impression the aboriginal Canadian Inuit sculpture may be a 20th century phenomonen. It looks a lot like '30s abstract work. Also, how could the Inuit have sculpted stone when they didn't use metal until the Europeans brought it in?. Don't get me wrong, I rather like the stuff, but I suspect this stuff does not have the history many people seem to assume.

You're right, I was remiss in using "ancient". However, soapstone can be carved with flint blades, and flint can be shaped with granite or other igneous rocks.
