There's a certain sort of terror in this:
# cd /usr/src/kernel-xxx
# make config
# make dep
# make zlilo
# make modules
# make modules_install
# reboot
Of the "oh shit I hope the condom didn't break" sort...

Yeah, but you should always save a known good kernel incase this one does not boot properly (have to edit lilo.conf by hand, and it doesn't work well when your doing this on a server a long distance away...)

The server can be just a few miles away as long as its the central machine for a major wireless co ... :-)
