Well that's disconcerting. I wonder if you can get bumped for reading novels with veiled homoerotic subtext? Or is this just a plot to boost readership of the in-flight magazine, subsequently increasing SkyMall sales?

Brad: I read "Macho Sluts" on the plane and no one noticed. So it appears that sex is okay. For now.

And you think SkyMall isn't all veiled homoerotic subtext? How many het guys do you know who'd manage the leopard men's bike shorts, and my gaydar isn't terribly well-tuned, but not even marrying Nicole Kidman would make me believe that the model for the luxury classic polo doesn't play for a different team.

I'm flying Monday, and I'll let you know how it goes. I usually carry something on a gay Christian topic, guaranteed to put off almost any overly chatty fellow traveler -- except the ones I'd *really* like to meet!

You see, the problem is, there are too many people who believe in magic.

Sympathetic magic means that one item can stand in place of a whole class of items, or that a symbol for an item can be used instead of an item. For instance, in one recent movie (I forget which one), a priestess lit a single candle, and all the others on the same table lit at the same time.

Therefore, a picture of a bomb can bring an airplane down.
