Flutterby™! : Model Mugging

Several women I know have participated in Bay Area Model Mugging and spoken very highly of it. Charlene is showing me her tape of her experiences with it and... well... this looks like a fantastic self-defense program. There's a list of chapters on the BAMM site and a Google search for "model mugging" should show local programs elsewhere in the country. Something like this is even important for those otherwise versed in martial arts, because it teaches fighting from the ground.
