Bill Jones, Republican candidate for governor of California, has sent campaign spam. Unfortunately the California anti-spam law isn't strict enough to put this guy away (now there's a death penalty I could get behind), but we should do our best to make sure his political career is over.

Tom & I got separately spammed yesterday by a city council candidate for
the town we lived in three years ago.
According to the Wired article, spam in CA is legal (ethical is another
matter altogether) if it includes a way to unsub. The stuff we got yesterday
didn't.
I might be down in LA next month. If I am, I'm seriously thinking about
filing a lawsuit against them. Just a simple small claims court action, but
it'd be good karma, I think.
We will not edit your comments. However, we may delete your
comments, or cause them to be hidden behind another link, if we feel
they detract from the conversation. Commercial plugs are fine,
if they are relevant to the conversation, and if you don't
try to pretend to be a consumer. Annoying endorsements will be deleted
if you're lucky, if you're not a whole bunch of people smarter and
more articulate than you will ridicule you, and we will leave
such ridicule in place.
