Pumpkin

Saw Pumpkin last night on video. Can anyone find a connection between it and But, I'm a Cheerleader. I can't but everything from the music to the camera work has a similar feel. Pumpkin falls short of Cheerleader though...

(Edited to make Pumpkin point there and not But I'm a Cheerleader. )

I do see the resemblance! but I liked Cheerleader more -- broad comedy with no taint of sappiness.

Cheerleader was better hands down. Better acting. Better writing. Better direction. But I'm still amazed that there isn't a connection.

So "Pumpkin" *was* as bad as it looks? "Cheerleader" at least had some humoress depth to it. "Pumpkin" just looks plain pathetic and lame.

There was a little bit of the same depth in Pumpkin, but the characters were somewhat inconsistent. The sad thing is with a little better direction or maybe even some better editting, Pumpkin could have been as good as Cheerleader.
