Breast cancer in Marin

For as long as I've lived in Marin[Wiki] I've heard worries over the breast cancer rate, yet nobody ever seemed to come up with a smoking gun. One side would proclaim that there were abnormally high rates of breast cancer, the other would counter that when normalized for other demographics it was just that well-off caucasian women had that rate of breast cancer. Well, after ruling out environmental factors, breast feeding differences, even membership in organized religion (which apparently raises your chances of breast cancer, so you'd think Marin[Wiki] would be lower) UCSF researchers have chalked it up to higher alcohol consumption.

Odd. I heard on the news (KGO) a few weeks back that the "higher rate" had been explained when someone discovered that the population of Marin had been undercounted. The report claimed that the revised rate was within norms.
