Whining, not complaining

What's the difference between whining and complaining? The only pants I have that fit me right now are 8 years old, and even they may be too big for me shortly. That's whining.

Actually, wouldn't that depend on why your pants don't fit?

If you're actively trying to lose weight and it's working, then yes, that's whining.

If elves are sneaking in and altering your pants while you're asleep, well then that's complaining.

So what's your secret? Polenta?

I'm not sure. At some point I just decided that I should be a little hungry all the time, and in conjunction with all the walking that a job in a downtown city needs I've just been slimming down. Charlene's trying to get me into doing Winsor Pilates with her, so maybe that'll help me put back on a little weight, just in the right places.
