Via Billy Wildhack: Water park cancels nudist event after pressure from Christian groups:

15,000 nudists were expected to descend on Wild Water Adventures for a private party this September, but after intense pressure from local churches and the public, the popular water park cancelled the party plans.

Hmmm... If someone went out and organized the opposition to this, is there any way to bring the law to bear against them under the anti-racketeering laws or something? If ever there were a place for the government to step in against a monopolistic restraint of trade...

sounds more like discrimination. if anyone is allowed to rent the water park for a private party, shouldn't matter if they have a suit on or not. for that matter, WHO CARES if they have a suit on; how is anyone going to know the swimmers aren't in suits? "He says the bible teaches nudity should be private and sacred". private party? only invited guests? sounds private and sacred to me. these holy rollers kill me sometimes with their extreme holier than thou attitudes. didn't think california was THAT religious <tongue in cheek>

Once you mentioned it I looked to see where the park is. Charlene's parents live just south of Fresno, and her response was "that's why I don't live in Fresno". The central valley is nothing like the SoCal or NoCal, it's agricultural and conservative.

Damn, that's a shame, 'cause we were actually trying to schedule a trek down to visit her family at a time when we could hit that very park.

If we had the opportunity... There are naked pictures of me on the Internet, if you know where to look...

(Okay, there's one that's not blurry here, too. Damn, I've lost a lot of weight.)

There are probably naked pictures of me in 450 private albums and several dozen weblogs; that's what Bare to Breakers will do for (to?) you... (<--- PS: that is an annoying link, but it was kind of obligatory)

Our clothing-optional trip to Jamaica was filmed as part of a naturist video by the fantastic Edin Velez in 1987 when I was 8 months pregnant. And if you ask me, it looks 100% completely beautiful: even my parents agreed when they saw the prints. (Sorry, the video is now out of print or I'd post a link.) Kind of surprising for a skinny kid who was always ashamed of her body. That's one of the good things all this clothing-optional stuff has done for me over the years: body acceptance.

And now back to the subject at hand: in a burst of reverse-boycotting, I shall be sure never to visit that water park. Plan to avoid it, and tell your friends.

Sometimes.. swim shorts or bottoms are a good thing.. I can just envision: sliding down the water slide and balls and/or penis get sucked UNDER between you and the slide. yowza! - Or nipples rubbed on a woman going down face first.. - but it would be fun to try.
