Filched from Anita Rowland, it's Factory Tours USA. Looks like there are a bunch in my area that I haven't done yet.

I actually researched factory tours awhile back. I love them! I've been to: Ford (MI), Saturn (TN), Mayfield Dairy (TN), Hershey's (PA), Coca cola World (GA), Shaw Industries (GA, not listed), Musk Ox Farm (AK), Intercourse (PA - the name of the TOWN!) Pretzels, Kellogg's Cereal (MI) and Tillamook (OR). And probably some more in Hershey I don't remember individually. There are lots in the area I live in and personally I think I should go to all of them. Especially if there is food. Ice cream is best, but pretzels are good too. But the Musk Ox Farm was really neat and there was no food and it smelled bad, so I'm pretty easy.

Beyond last weekend's tour of the CalPine plant, off the top of my head I've been to the Jelly Belly factory tour, through a pencil factory in Danbury CT that at the time was making "Berol Prismacolor" pencils (the brands have been sold to other places, although Prismacolor colored pencils are still good), the Connecticut Yankee Nuclear power plant (complete with "hands against the wall" pat down search), a cheese spread company in Wisconsin (whose product I've run into since, but whose name I can't remember right now)... I'm sure there's more, but I don't remember 'em right now.

And that doesn't count all the dairy farms and small cheese and baking operations in the area in upstate New York where I grew up.

I don't go on factory tours unless I can open up the control panels. :)

Larry, don't you get PAID to do that?

Yeah. Factory tours are all a part of it and in the end I get to run the process. I love my job. :)
