For several years I've been up in higher level languages or down in C. Now I'm working in C++, and while I understand all of the design decisions which lead to C++ I'm now thoroughly convinced that there's room for a higher performance language than Java[Wiki] or C# which takes some of the things that we've learned from Python[Wiki] and Perl[Wiki] and gets compiled into native code.
