Walk-Don't Run to the nearest Robot store...

A spooky little movie from Honda shows the latest version of their ASIMO walking robot. This is fascinating, since walking is very hard; it takes humans a couple of years to figure it out properly, and we're designed for it. The gait is remarkably lifelike, although I wish the movie showed it turning. I look forward to seeing the next version walk over uneven ground instead of a carpet.

Thanks, I had not seen that one yet. Wow. Isaac Asimov would be proud. Honda has spent a LOT making that thing.. and it keeps getting better and better. I wonder if the arms and hands are equally advanced. I assume so, as robotic 'hand' technology is in wide use.

Cool. I'd been wanting to see some footage of the new model too.

I wonder if raising the arms during running is actually a balance issue or just an effort to make it more lifelike.
