Cody in Iraq?

Quick: will "insurgents" behead an actual prisoner or a 12" action figure? Only Cody from Dragon Models knows for sure!

(Dan, how come in the comments page my links point to two articles and on the main page it's only one big link? I originally typed it as only one, but edited it to show two. In fact, I've edited it twice now but the main page still doesn't update. ?) [Never mind, it fixed itself eventually. Darned computers.]

Stolen directly from an entry over at Sgt Stryker's Daily Briefing:

Update didn't happen because one of the database triggers which is supposed to force a rebuild of the front page doesn't happen, and since that situation almost always works itself out I've never bothered to fix it.

I really loved the touch of the little plastic assault weapon pointing into the frame at Cody, myself. snopes.com says the jury is still out on whether this whole thing is an urban legend/hoax, whether it was actually published on an "Iraqi militant website", and if so whether it was meant as a joke or whether someone put one over on the good webmasters. (And if so, whether that someone perhaps paid Cody's penalty instead...)

One of the reasons I held back on running it was that I was afraid it was in extremely poor taste if it actually involved a real live U.S. soldier. But military folks tend to have pretty thick skin, so sometimes I have to use the good folks over at Sgt Stryker's as my baseline.
