That was a stupendous set of images. Wow. - Makes me wonder if that stupid human trick was not a stunt.

I think he should set the pictures to music. I could just hear the theme from Hawaii 5-0 when the Coast Guard started coming in...

Wow, what a lovely pictorial! Had I known it was that good I would have procured some popcorn first. In the skipper's defense doing things that are exciting and stupid is how you gain experience. I have fond memories of preforming similar stunts out of Morrow Bay during my Poly days(daze), including pitchpoling. The one(minor?) difference being I sailed a hobbie 18 at the time and it seems a bit better suited for such shenanigans...

Hey, we saw that live! Well, actually the aftermath. It was our last day in the SF area and we drove up from Santa Cruz to drag the kids over the bridge. I took some shots of that area on the way across the bridge and then on the walk back we saw all of the coast guard boats booking it for the cove: about seven boats and a helicopter. They hung out for a while, never getting very close, and then took off again.

I'll post my bridge-perspective photo on the weblog tomorrow.

Thanks, Dan. We watched the news that night and couldn't find any mention of it.
