Ninjas stalk Sonoma

Yowza! It's been a bad month for Dori and Tom, and now their home town Healdsburg has a mysterious ninja attack. Luckily the ninja wasn't bulletproof.

Between Henry getting arrested for arson and this, things have been a little weird around here lately. I didn't know about the ninja until you posted this one, though -- so thanks, I think.

Without going into inane details, it's been a weird month around here as well, but hearing about Tom puts it all in perspective, pretty darn minor.

Dori linked this, and, preserved for posterity, my comment:

They're still trying to identify the would-be ninja. And, yes, I don't think he was a real ninja, because he had a gun. A real ninja would have had mysterious polished metal balls which, when thrown, would have exploded into prodigious amounts of smoke so that he could silently make his escape. And a shuriken or two coated with mysterious poisons heretofore unknown to science.

I think someone was hiring inferior discount ninjas. Since the target was apparently some big gambling exec, I wonder if this is some sort of "dis": The mob boss can't be bothered to send a real ninja out after you...

No matter how bad-ass you are with numbers, being a CFO of a gambling operation and having an outfit does not make you a ninja.

Interesting that it took this long for them to figure out who the guy was. You'd think since he worked for the would-be victim, there'd be some recognition there...
