edit: This is sort of tongue in cheek, for those not familiar with Westboro Baptist Church, here's their official website. www.godhatesfags.com

It was through coverage about various groups doing constructive things against the Westboro abominations that I first learned about the Patriot Guard Riders, a nationwide organization of motorcyclists, mostly veterans, who will respectfully attend any funeral or memorial service where they are invited. In the case of service personnel funerals targeted by the Westboro abominations, they will stand silently with their flags outstretched, forming a human and US flag chain protecting the mourners from the abominations. I called the PGR when my Dad died in March, and they showed up in force to honor his service as a B-17 pilot in WW II. It was one of the most moving parts of the day, and I will never forget them.
