Ye of too much faith

<shrug> Sometimes the most surprising thing about events like this is that people are surprised. http://www.cnn.com/2014/02/16/us/snake-salvation-pastor-bite/ This doesn't prove an absence of God but perhaps the pastor had faith in the wrong one? Quetzalcoatl comes to mind but that might be a bit hard to pronounce.

"snake handling" falls under bad religious practices in my book. It doesn't get into details of the bite... or what dark deadly sins the pastor might be punished for... Whether or not you believe in "God", believing that you need to take foolish risks to prove that faith might be a sign that your relationship with God has serious issues.

Matthew 4:7 comes to mind here.

I had to look it up:

Jesus answered him, "It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'"
