Kylix review

2002-09-13 07:48:40+02 by Shawn 0 comments

Joe Barr, of LinuxWorld reports on his test drive of Kylix. Kylix is Borland's all-in-one (RAD/IDE) development product for x86 Linux - especially now that version 3 supports C++ along with Delphi. (Think of it as C++ Builder for Linux, with your projects being source compatible between the two platforms.)

The review is short but gives a good basic first impression. I think Borland is making a good move with this. The time is ripe for bringing the development of Linux apps to a broader audience, and it might just be the final weight to tip the scale.

Oh yeah, Kylix is available as a free Open Source product. (Although there are license restrictions on the redistrobutables created with the OS version.)
