Interesting... I worked for a company that made both revisions to older VeriPhone blue boxes and a server system that handled incoming transactions for some of the big CC processors. The server system ran on a standard PC. I could have easily setup a box to receive and authorize transactions. Then, all I'd have to do is get the PBX at a big retailer to dial my number instead of the real number.
There are all kinds of spoofs like this one could pull. How 'bout a fake ATM at a c-store?
