Yet another reason why so-called "reality-TV" should be shot in the head. This is basically a pageant where "regular" people audition for the chance to become an American Idol. The winner gets a record contract (I think) and plenty of publicity along the way.
Losers are openly ridiculed for the enjoyment of the viewing public.
